Welcome to USYD TKD Club

As a martial arts club, we aim to foster discipline, passion, and the five tenets of taekwondo in our members. But more than that, we strive to create a community where our members can develop both skills and friendships that extend beyond graduation.

THE FIVE TENETS OF TAEKWONDO

COURTESY - YE-UI, 예의

Showing courtesy to all, respecting others, having manners as well as maintaining the appropriate etiquette at all times, both within and outside the dojang (도장, training area)

INTEGRITY - YEOM-CHI, 염치

Having the conscience to feel guilt if one has done wrong and to have the integrity to stand up for what is right.

PERSERVERANCE - IN-NAE, 인내

To apply oneself until they have achieved their goal, in spite of any difficulties or troubles.

SELF-CONTROL - GEUK-GI, 극기

To have control over both one's physical acts as well as their thoughts and intentions.

INDOMITABLE SPIRIT - BAEK-JEOL-BUL-GUL, 백절불굴

To have the courage to stand up for one's beliefs regardless of the opposition and to always give your full effort to your actions.

Meet our coaches
